Jalore. With the onset of winter, the demand for Amla has increased in the vegetable market of Jalore. This green fruit rich in Vitamin C and antioxidants has become the superfood of this season. Fresh and high quality Amla is being sold in the market for Rs 50 to 100 per kg. Not only raw Amla, but its jam, pickle, powder and juice are also being liked very much in homes.
Dr. Shriram Vaidya, expert of Sushruta Ayurvedic Hospital, Jalore informed that Amla is very beneficial in strengthening the immunity of the body and maintaining health. He says that the antioxidants present in it prevent many diseases and make the body strong from inside. According to Dr. Vaidya, regular consumption of Amla in winter also helps in providing relief from cough, cold and common cold.
Amla Murabba improves digestion and gives relief from joint pain.
Santosh Devi, a housewife from Jalore, told Local 18 that Amla Murabba is effective in improving digestion, providing relief from joint pain and strengthening skin and hair. According to him, making and consuming Amla Murabba at home is not only delicious but is also beneficial for health. Santosh Devi told that in winter, gooseberry jam and pickles are made in many houses including her family. Housewife Santosh Devi tells that to make this at home, first boil 500 grams of gooseberry lightly and remove the seeds, then put the gooseberries in the syrup of 2 cups of sugar and 1 cup of water and cook on low flame for 30 minutes and finally add half a teaspoon of cardamom powder and a pinch of saffron.
When it cools down, it can be stored in a glass bottle. So this winter, keeping in mind both taste and health, make Amla Murabba at home. According to local traders, the increasing demand for Amla in the market has also increased the income of farmers. Available in the market from October to February, this fruit has become the best selling product of the cold season. Amla has not only become the favorite of every household, but is also proving to be very beneficial for health.
