According to the information, a family is facing social boycott for doing love marriage in the court in Badsar, Hamirpur. In such a situation, now the entire family is living in an atmosphere of fear.
According to the information, a 30-year-old man and a 23-year-old girl from Karer village of Barsar had a love marriage in a Delhi court in October. Both are adults, but the girl’s parents were not ready for a relationship.
The youth’s father told that he was living in his in-laws’ house for the last 30 years because there was no one to take care of his mother-in-law. Now his son had a court marriage with a village girl. On this, the girl’s family, along with some people of the village, organized a social boycott of the family.
Deshraj alleges that on December 1, an attempt was made to set his house on fire during a wedding ceremony in the village. During this time his wife was also beaten up. The complaint about the incident was lodged at Bhota police post on December 2, after which the police reached the spot and took stock of the situation. Due to fear, the girl and the young man are in Delhi and are not returning to the village.
The young man’s father works as a confectioner in Faridabad, while his wife and elderly mother-in-law live alone at home. Due to the current situation, they are not able to go to their work again. The victim’s family has demanded security from the police and administration and strict action against the culprits.
