Calling it unfortunate, the ruling party said that it is necessary to discuss the vision of the state in the silver jubilee year. Naxal issues, Congress politics and demand for increasing MLA fund also resonated in the session.

Raipur. The winter session of Chhattisgarh Assembly started with uproar and political allegations and counter-allegations. On the very first day of the session, opposition parties including Congress boycotted the proceedings. The ruling party reacted sharply to this step of the opposition and called it against democratic traditions. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kedar Kashyap said that Chhattisgarh has entered the silver jubilee year and it is very unfortunate for the opposition to stay away from the House on such an occasion. He said that the presence of the opposition is necessary to discuss the vision, development and future of the state.
In the winter session, the government’s priority development, law and order, Naxal eradication and policy reforms were discussed, but due to the opposition’s boycott, the atmosphere of the session became completely political. Leaders of the ruling party alleged that Congress is running away from discussion and turning away from public issues. At the same time, BJP MLAs gave sharp statements regarding the attitude of the opposition inside and outside the House. The conflict between the government and the opposition was clearly visible on the very first day of the session.
Attack from the ruling party: Boycott is against democracy
Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kedar Kashyap termed the opposition’s boycott as unfortunate and said that this is not the first boycott of the Congress. He said that whenever the time comes to discuss the future and vision of the state, Congress remains missing from the House. Minister Kashyap, while defending the statement of senior MLA Ajay Chandrakar, said that there can be flaws in any state, but the government’s effort is to carry forward development in a positive manner.
Sushant Shukla’s sharp attack on Congress
BJP MLA Sushant Shukla launched a strong attack on the opposition. He said that religion has no use in the account of heretics. Whenever auspicious work took place in the country, Congress remained missing. He said that whatever is not Ram’s, is of no use. Sushant Shukla also said that the work of making Chhattisgarh a developed state is going on and if any discrepancy remains, it will also be corrected. He raised the question that Congress should explain why Chhattisgarh has not been able to develop in so many years.
Taunt on Congress’s SIR Maharally
MLA Sushant Shukla also took a dig at Congress’s SIR Maharally. He said that Congress has gone to Delhi to worship the feet of a family. He alleged that Congress’s focus is more on the internal agenda of the party than on issues of public interest.
Dharamjit Singh’s strong stance on Naxal issue
BJP MLA Dharamjit Singh raised the issue of sloganeering in support of Naxalite Hidma in JNU in the Assembly. He demanded to condemn it by bringing a motion in the House. Dharamjit Singh said that such Naxal supporters should be taken on a tour to Bastar, so that they can know the truth of the atrocities committed by the Naxalites. He also mentioned the cruelty of Naxalite Hidma and Basavaraju in the House.
Demand to increase MLA fund
MLA Dharamjit Singh raised the demand of increasing the MLA fund to Rs 10 crore in the House. He said that the previous government had increased the MLA fund and now the Chief Minister should also take revolutionary steps and increase it. He said that increasing the funds will give impetus to development works in the areas.
