While giving more information about this to Local 18, Ravi Kumar, working in SNID of Ambala Municipal Council, said that the government has extended the period of PM Swanidhi Scheme till March 2030 and with this, all those street vendors, who were earlier deprived of the scheme, will now be able to avail the benefits.

Ravi Kumar said that the council is running a door-to-door campaign for publicity and along with this, information about the scheme is also being conveyed to the vendors through garbage collection vehicles. He told that earlier the first loan of Rs 10 thousand was given to the vendors under this scheme, which has been increased to Rs 15 thousand.
He said that after the first loan, the person’s second loan is being increased from Rs 20 thousand to Rs 25 thousand and the third loan is being given up to Rs 50 thousand. He said that the cashback facility of vendors will also continue as before and also 7% interest is being deposited directly into the accounts of the beneficiaries as subsidy by the Government of India. He said that so far an amount of Rs 6.5 crore has been given as loan by the banks to the vendors in the Municipal Council area and “Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aim is to build a developed India by 2047, in which our street vendors will also have an important contribution.
How to get loan
He told that to avail the benefits of this scheme, the beneficiary has to come to the Municipal Council and give only his Aadhar card and bank copy. After some time, the first loan amount comes to the beneficiary’s account, which has to be returned within the stipulated time without interest.

At the same time, the local people greatly appreciated the awareness campaign regarding this scheme being run by the Municipal Council, Ambala Sadar. He told that due to lack of money at home, he used to go around on a bicycle for a long time to repair gas stoves, but now he will open his own shop and take this work forward by purchasing a modern machine. He told that he got information about this scheme from the garbage collection vehicle coming to his area, because that vehicle of the Municipal Council is making people aware about this scheme through announcement.
