Foreign investors withdrew ₹18,000 crore from Indian markets
In December, Foreign Portfolio Investors (FPIs) again started withdrawing money from the Indian stock market. In the first 9 trading days of the month, FPIs sold shares worth about Rs 18,000 crore. However, this selling did not have any major impact on the benchmark index as Domestic Institutional Investors (DIIs) took the lead. According to the data, during this period, DIIs have bought shares worth almost twice the amount than FPIs sold, due to which the market balance was maintained.
