Lahi is a sap sucking insect, which is more visible especially in the winter season. This weakens the plant and affects its growth. To prevent this, spray the medicine Ligal or Malathion by dissolving it in 1 ml per liter of water. Apart from this, control can also be done by putting Thiamet 1-g granules in the soil near the plants.
From gardening enthusiasts to flower growers, everyone likes roses the most. These not only enhance the beauty of the garden, but are also a source of good income. However, like other crops, rose plants are also prone to various types of pests and diseases, due to which farmers as well as customers may have to suffer losses.
In such a situation, Dr. Rupa, an expert from Bokaro-based Krishi Vigyan Kendra, has shared important information related to the identification of major pests and diseases affecting rose plants and their prevention measures.
Dr. Rupa told that the most serious problem in rose plants is termites, which attack the roots of the plant. Due to this, plants suddenly wither and may even die.
To prevent this, 5 grams of Daswan grains should be used in the pit while planting, which reduces the risk of termites and keeps the plant safe.
In branch rot disease, the cut branches of rose plants turn black and start drying up. If they are not treated in time, the entire plant may die. In such a situation, damage can be prevented by applying Vanguard or Vavistin drug paste on the cut area as soon as symptoms appear.

In powdery mildew disease, a white powdery layer accumulates on the branches and leaves of roses. The leaves turn yellow and the development of buds stops. To control this disease, the problem can be solved by spraying soluble sulfur 2 grams per liter or Carathane 1 ml per liter of water.
In black spot disease, black spots appear on the leaves of the rose, due to which the beauty of the plant is lost and it starts looking colorless. In such a situation, for its treatment, 2 grams of Chlorothalonil, or 2 grams of Blitax/Dithane M-45 should be dissolved in per liter of water and sprayed. This prevents the problem of black spot disease.
