It is important to maintain moisture in the field during the period from the beginning of harvesting till sending the sugarcane to the mill gate, because moisture maintains the weight of the sugarcane. Second, immediately after cutting the sugarcane, cover it with a mat or tarpaulin. When sugarcane comes in contact with direct sunlight and wind, it loses moisture rapidly, which can lead to weight loss. Also, harvesting should be done from the ground level so that the crop of paddy is good.

If you want to get better weight from the sugarcane yield, then you should also pay special attention to the harvesting time, try to harvest in the late afternoon or early morning.
