A Story from CISF: CISF, in an emotional and supportive initiative for the families of its personnel, has organized a counseling program for special needs children. 74 families participated in this program held at CISF Headquarters in New Delhi. Director General Praveer Ranjan assured that the force is committed to the welfare of its families. The program talked about therapy, education and future opportunities.
A Story from CISF: When a CISF soldier, who wears uniform and is responsible for the security of the country, is on duty, then many untold battles are going on in his house. Especially when there is a child with ‘special needs’ in the house. Understanding these sentiments and needs, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) has taken a sensitive and commendable initiative for the families of its personnel.
CISF has organized a special counseling program for families of children with ‘special needs’. This program took place at CISF Headquarters in Delhi, the aim of which was to support the parents who are struggling every day for a better future for their children. This initiative is in line with the spirit of the Central Government’s ‘Sugamya Bharat Abhiyan’, which emphasizes on equal opportunity and inclusion.
CISF will strengthen support system by meeting NITI Aayog
This program was presided over by CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan. This session was organized in hybrid mode, in which 74 CISF families from across the country participated. On this occasion, DG Praveer Ranjan said that CISF is not just a security force but a strong family of its personnel and their families. He assured that in future the force will further strengthen the support system for such families in collaboration with NITI Aayog.

In the program, Meera Bhatia, Founder and CEO of ‘Sai Swayam Sansthan’ explained to the parents in simple language how important it is to identify special needs in childhood itself. He told that therapy started at the right time can change the lives of children. His talks on topics like home-based therapy, education, self-reliance and future employment have become a ray of hope for parents.
So that no CISF personnel feels alone
The most emotional moment of the event came when CISF Director General Praveer Ranjan presented a custom-made wheelchair to 12-year-old Master Aditya Sikarwar. Aditya is the son of head constable Sanjay Singh Sikarwar posted in the Samadhi Sthal Unit of CISF. The smile on Aditya’s face after getting the wheelchair made the entire atmosphere emotional.
At the same time, CISF reiterated that it will continue to provide all possible support to its personnel and their families through such efforts in future also, so that no family feels alone.
