First of all, wash the gooseberry thoroughly and grate it. After this, peel the beetroot and prepare a fine grater for it. Now lightly roast fennel, cumin and black pepper in a dry pan and when it cools down, grind them and prepare an aromatic spice powder.
Now mix grated amla and beetroot together in a big vessel. Then add the prepared masala, salt, black salt, chaat masala, asafoetida and sugar powder and mix well so that all the flavors become uniform. Keep drying this mixture in the sun for 2 to 3 days, until it dries completely and becomes crisp like Mukhwas. After this store it in an air-tight container.
This Amla-Beetroot Mukhwas not only enhances the taste but is also an excellent source of health. Amla is rich in Vitamin C, which helps in skin glow, immunity and hair health. Beetroot provides iron and natural antioxidants to the body, which increases hemoglobin and reduces fatigue. The mixture of spices strengthens the digestive power and provides relief from gas and indigestion. Eating it in small quantities every day after meals gives freshness, energy and excellent digestion to the body.
