Magahi Film Festival Patna: The theme of the short film should be based on Magahi society, culture, history, folk art, folk tales, lifestyle, entrepreneurship and positive efforts. Magahiya speaking Dheeraj, resident of Mithapur Patna, director of films like Vihaan, Kashi, Suswagatam Khushdeed, said that he will also give the directors of whichever films are selected a chance as an assistant director in his film.
Patna. If you also make a short film based on the culture of Magadha in Magahi language, then you can get a reward of up to Rs 25 thousand. With the aim of promoting Magahi language and literary culture, ‘Magahi Connection’ organization has officially announced the Magahi Short Film Competition. In this, a cash amount of Rs 25,000 and a citation will be given as first prize. The second prize will be given a cash amount of Rs 15,000 and the third prize will be given Rs 11,000 and a citation. Apart from this, the top 5 participants will receive a cash amount of Rs 5,100 and a citation as appreciation award.
Selected director will get work in Bollywood
Ravi Shankar Upadhyay of Magahi Connection said that like last year, the second edition of Magahi Mahotsav i.e. Magahi Mahotsav 2026 will be of two days this time. It will be organized at Bapu Tower on 28 and 29 March. While a literary session will be organized on the first day, Magahi Short Film Festival will be organized on the second day on March 29. All selected short films will be screened in this festival. Not only this, Maghiya speaking Dheeraj, resident of Mithapur Patna, director of films like Vihaan, Kashi, Suswagatam Khushdeed, said that he will also give a chance to the directors of whichever films are selected as assistant directors in his film.

The theme of the short film should be based on Magahi society, culture, history, folk art, folk tales, lifestyle, entrepreneurship and positive efforts. The film should not infringe any copyright. Short films can be made with any device i.e. camera or mobile. Minimum 720 pixels and HD video quality is required. Participants can send their films to the email magahiassociation@gmail.com through the link of Google Drive from 15 December 2025 to 1 March 2026. The award distribution ceremony will be held on 29 March 2026 at Magahi Mahotsav. The main objective of this festival is to encourage the production of Magahi films and to provide a platform to new talents.
