Sandy loam soil is considered best for beetroot cultivation. To get good yield, it can also be grown in friable and well drained soil. how many months of harvest
Talking to Local 18, farmer Anand Maurya says that beetroot is a good and cheap crop, because it gives good profits at very low cost. At present I have beetroot planted in half an acre. The cost is 2 to 3 thousand rupees in one bigha and the profit is 40 to 50 thousand rupees. Beetroot is used in many things apart from salad, vegetables and juice. Because of this, its demand is high in the markets and its rates are also good. Its harvest lasts for one and a half to 2 months.
when to irrigate
Farmer Anand says that it is quite easy to cultivate it. First the field is deeply plowed two to three times. Then the field is leveled by sprinkling fertilizer in it. After this, beetroot seeds are sown. After 8 to 10 days, when the plant emerges and grows a little, then irrigate it. The crop starts emerging 50 to 55 days after sowing. Now we can sell it in the market.
