Patna: Metro operations are running smoothly at three stations in Patna. Work is also progressing rapidly on all the remaining routes. Malahi Pakdi station in the bypass area is almost ready. The work of Khemnichak station is also going on at a fast pace. Apart from this, a part of tunnel excavation in Ashok Rajpath has also been completed. The second tunnel from Moinul Haq Stadium to PMCH Station was also ready. Now the work of building a tunnel between PMCH and Gandhi Maidan on this route will start soon. Beyond this, a tunnel is ready from Gandhi Maidan to Patna Junction via Akashvani.
Tunnel ready till PMCH station
Excavation of tunnel on the underground route of Patna Metro is going on at a fast pace. The recent update is that the construction of the second tunnel going towards PMCH station in Ashok Rajpath has also been completed. This tunnel has been dug from under the Radha-Krishna temple. Earlier on November 10, the first tunnel was prepared from the side adjacent to the temple.
Let us tell you that this temple established in 1812 is now in a very dilapidated condition. For this reason, Patna Metro had issued a notice to acquire 0.4662 acres of land of the temple. However, the temple priests and local people strongly opposed it. Due to the protest, the work of Tunnel Boring Machine (TBM) near the temple came to a halt for about three months. In case the temple could not be shifted, the construction agency successfully evacuated the TBM to the PMCH station premises with the help of new equipment and modern technology, making a safe ring around the outer and lower part of the temple.

Let us tell you that a 1480 meter long tunnel has been completed from Moinul Haq Stadium to Patna University. After this, the tunnel till PMCH has also been ready. Now the work of preparing the tunnel from PMCH to Gandhi Maidan will start. It will take about six months to prepare it. On the other hand, the tunnel is ready from Gandhi Maidan to Patna Junction via Akashvani. In such a situation, the entire metro tunnel from Moinul Haq Stadium to Patna Junction will be ready in the next six months. After this, further work will progress at a faster pace. Here, preparations are going on to build a tunnel in Bailey Road also.
How many stations are there in Ashok Rajpath
There is an elevated station till Malahi Pakdi. After this, Moinul Haq Stadium, Patna University, PMCH, Gandhi Maidan, Akashvani and Patna Junction, all these will be underground metro stations. Excavation of the tunnel is going on for this.
