Goat rearing: Goat rearing is good news for farmers. Animal Husbandry Department is giving huge subsidy on goat rearing. The Animal Husbandry Department will provide subsidy on one male goat to those rural animal farmers in rural areas who are rearing five female goats. By taking advantage of this scheme, farmers can get good income. The name of this scheme is Male Goat Distribution Scheme.
Goat rearing is easy and goats do not require much care. A goat becomes salable in a year and can be sold for Rs 10-15 thousand. Under this scheme, different subsidy amounts are given to general category, scheduled caste and scheduled tribe. By taking advantage of this scheme, farmers can become financially strong.
Local 18 team spoke to Joint Director Dr. Devendra Netam. Dr. Netam told that a special scheme for goat rearing is being run by the Chhattisgarh government. Male goat distribution scheme is a very good scheme. In rural areas, the animal husbandry department provides a male goat of good breed to those cattle farmers who keep five female goats as per their eligibility. This is given entirely through DBT. In this, the beneficiaries themselves select the goat and purchase it, after which the amount is deposited directly into their account through DBT.
How much profit is there on buying a goat?
The maximum amount given by the department for the purchase of goat is Rs 3500 for the general category and Rs 4000 for the beneficiaries of Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe. To avail the benefits of this scheme, the beneficiary has to apply to the nearest veterinary hospital. After this the case is prepared by the veterinary centre. After the case is ready, the beneficiaries themselves buy the goat. After this, bill, PAN card, Aadhar card and bank passbook have to be submitted, after which the amount is sent to the beneficiary’s account.
