Difficult to differentiate between fog and smoke
The average AQI in Faridabad today was between 150 to 190 i.e. the air was in the moderate to poor category. The situation was not the same in every part of the city; in some areas the air was slightly better, but in some sectors the condition remained bad. Especially in Sector 16A and 30, AQI reached from 392 to 458. It was difficult to go out in such bad air; it became difficult to differentiate between fog and smoke. Situation bad in Ballabhgarh also
Even in Ballabhgarh the situation is not very good. Here AQI was recorded from 160 to 230+ i.e. the air was in the bad to very bad category. Dust was clearly visible on the markets and roads; on top of that, the smoke from the vehicles further spoils the atmosphere. Shopkeepers say that by evening the air begins to feel heavier and it becomes difficult to stand on the roadside.
Gurugram is also not behind. The average AQI here remained between 160 to 226 but the situation was worse in some sectors. In Sectors 65 and 51, AQI increased from 234 to 312 plus. People living in societies said that the mist seen outside the balcony is actually smog and instead of decreasing, it keeps increasing throughout the day.
Don’t forget to wear a mask
Overall, the air problem has worsened in both Faridabad and Gurugram. Be it office goers, students or shopkeepers, its impact is visible on everyone’s life. Doctors are constantly advising that on such days, go out less, drink more water and if necessary, do not forget to wear a mask.
If the situation continues like this, then everyday life will become more difficult for people in the coming days. Now is the time for cities to take some big steps, so that breathing can become easy again.
