Patna News: SSP Karthikeya Sharma has suspended traffic inspector Upendra Shah in connection with the assault on NMCH doctor BN Chaturvedi in Patna. After the video of doctor being beaten on JP Setu went viral, SSP has taken major action.
Patna. Major action has been taken in the case of assault on a doctor in the capital Patna. In fact, the doctor who assaulted the doctor has been suspended. Traffic Inspector Upendra Shah has been suspended by SSP Karthikeya Sharma with immediate effect. This action has been taken after the incident of assault on NMCH doctor BN Chaturvedi near JP Setu had raised questions on the working style of the police in the entire state.
Let us tell you, the incident took place recently near JP Setu, where NMCH doctor BN Chaturvedi was going in his vehicle. Meanwhile, traffic inspector Upendra Shah stopped him and after an altercation allegedly assaulted the doctor. The doctor’s driver had also accused the inspector of beating him brutally. The video of the incident was revealed, after which the matter started gaining momentum.
The local police station had asked to manage the matter
According to the information received, Dr. Chaturvedi was returning from duty with his driver Rajkumar. There was an altercation with Inspector Upendra Sah over a truck crossing on the wrong side amid traffic jam on JP Setu. It is being told that the Inspector attacked. Driver Rajkumar suffered the most injuries in this attack. Dr. Chaturvedi was also beaten due to which he also suffered injuries. After the incident, when the driver Rajkumar reached Digha police station in a seriously injured condition, the police advised not to file an FIR, saying that they would manage the case.

Doctors had expressed strong displeasure against this incident. Doctors had said that this incident is going to break the morale of the entire medical community. IMA Bihar had also opened a front to protest against this incident. The IMA delegation had met the DGP and demanded strict action against the guilty inspector. News 18 had highlighted this incident, after which the police administration came into action. On the basis of investigation, SSP has issued an order to suspend traffic inspector Upendra Shah.
