Bhagalpur News: In Bhagalpur, Bihar, a teacher punished a sixth class student in such a way that she fell unconscious. The teacher first asked him to do 101 sit-ups. After that suddenly his punishment was doubled.

Bhagalpur: A case of inhuman treatment of a student came to light in Bhagalpur district of Bihar. Where the teacher punished the student in such a way that she fell unconscious. The matter pertains to Adarsh Middle School Dharhara under Gopalpur block of Navgachia sub-division of Bhagalpur district. Here, a student studying in class 6 was allegedly punished by the assistant teacher for indiscipline by holding her ears and doing sit-ups 101 times.
During such harsh punishment, the girl repeatedly requested the teacher to stop, but the teacher ignored her and instructed her to do 202 more sit-ups. The girl, weakened by extreme fatigue and pain, suddenly fell on the ground and became unconscious. As soon as he fell, foam started coming out of his mouth and the situation became serious. As soon as information about the incident was received, other children called the school personnel. When the condition of the student deteriorated, the headmistress in charge of the school, Shashikala Devi, was informed. But the family alleges that instead of taking responsibility, the headmistress shrugged off the matter by advising them to take the girl home. Later, the family took the student home in a critical condition and then immediately admitted her to the sub-divisional hospital Navagachia, where the doctors said her condition was critical.

There is deep anger among the family members and villagers due to the incident. Villagers say that such harsh and inhumane treatment of children in school is not acceptable. The family members are demanding strict action against the teacher, while the villagers have also appealed to the education department to intervene. Considering the seriousness of the matter, demands are being raised from the local administration to conduct an impartial investigation and take action against those responsible. This incident once again raises questions on corporal punishment in schools and underlines the need for sensitivity in the education system.
