New Delhi. In view of the increasing number of passengers, Indian Railways has taken two big steps simultaneously. On one hand, a one-way special train will run from Thiruvananthapuram to Hazrat Nizamuddin, which will take the passengers of South India directly to Delhi. On the other hand, Agra Cantonment-Hoshiarpur Express is being converted from old ICF coaches to LHB coaches, which will provide more comfort and safety to the passengers. These changes will come into effect from December 13, which will provide relief to those traveling during winter holidays.
According to Indian Railways, for the convenience of passengers, Railways has started the operation of 06159 Thiruvananthapuram Central-Hazrat Nizamuddin one-way special train. This train will depart from Thiruvananthapuram Central at 07:45 am on Saturday, 13 December 2025. The yatra will last for about three days and will reach Hazrat Nizamuddin at 19:00 pm on Monday via Mathura Junction (13:00/13:02).
The train will stop here
This special train will stop at 32 major stations on the route. This includes Thiruvananthapuram Central, Kollam Junction, Kairanakulam Junction, Chengannur, Tiruvalla, Changanassery, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Aluva, Thrissur, Shoranur Junction, Tirur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod, Mangalore Junction, Udupi, Kundapura, Mukambika Road Byndoor, Karwar, Madgaon Junction, Tivim, Ratnagiri, Chiplun, Roha, Panvel, Vasai Road, Udhna Junction, Vadodara Junction, Ratlam Junction, Kota Junction, Sawai Madhopur Junction, Mathura Junction and Hazrat Nizamuddin. There will be a total of 21 coaches in the train.
Will be replaced by LHB coach
In Agra Cantonment-Hoshiarpur Express (11905/11906), the old ICF coaches are being replaced with modern LHB coaches, which are more safe and comfortable. At present the train has 21 coaches. Now there will be 18 coaches. This change will be implemented from Agra Cantonment from 14 December 2025 and from Hoshiarpur from 15 December 2025. LHB coaches have anti-climbing feature, which reduces collisions in accidents. Also, AC economy class has been added, which will provide AC travel at a cheaper rate. Both these steps are part of Railways’ ‘Amrit Bharat’ scheme, which focuses on providing better facilities and safety to passengers. The special train will be a relief for those traveling long distance from South to North, while the passengers of North India will get a good experience during the journey. People will get convenience.
