Raipur. These days a grand confluence of Gond culture and traditional art is being seen in Raipur, the capital of Chhattisgarh. The beautiful artworks of artists from different corners of the country are attracting people in the Gondwana Fair to be held till 14th December at BTI Ground, Shankar Nagar. In this series, handicraft artist Sabir Ali from Uttar Pradesh is in the news due to his excellent and premium quality wooden decorative items. Sabir Ali himself manufactures all these items. He told Local 18 that the intricate carving and unique designs in every product are the specialties of his art.
Sabir Ali said that after the Gondwana Fair, he will also showcase his handicraft art in the fair to be held at the Science College grounds from December 18 to December 25. The most liked items among the products brought by them include flower pots, book shelves, corner sets, coffee sets, stools, console tables with mirror, tables and dining sets. Many of these products are made from walnut wood, which is known for its strength and premium finishing.

All wooden items are made at home
Sabir Ali said that all his products are home production. These are not made in any factory but at their home itself. It takes 3 to 4 days to prepare each piece. Since this work is done entirely by hand, it is bought especially by hobbyists. Their depot is located in Bhubaneswar, from where goods are supplied.
