Bahraich Murti Visarjan Riot: The District and Center Court on Thursday sentenced the culprits in the case of violence, arson and murder of Ram Gopal Mishra during idol immersion on October 13, 2024 in Maharajganj area of Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. The court has sentenced Sarfaraz to death.
Bahraich: The District and Orange Court on Thursday sentenced the culprits in the case of violence, arson and murder of Ram Gopal Mishra that took place during idol immersion on October 13, 2024 in Maharajganj area of Bahraich district of Uttar Pradesh. The court has sentenced Sarfaraz to death. Apart from this, 8 culprits have been sentenced to life imprisonment. Whereas one convict has been sentenced to 8 years. Let us tell you that on October 13, 2024, violence broke out in Maharajganj market during Durga Puja immersion. During this period, along with vandalism and arson, Ram Gopal Mishra was shot dead.
In this incident, a case was registered against the accused under sections 191(2) 191(3), 190, 103(2) 249, 61(2) of BNS along with section 30 of the Arms Act. After this incident, in the police encounter, 13 accused including the main accused were arrested and sent to jail and even NSA action was taken. After almost 13 months of hearing and trial, finally the family members of Ram Gopal Mishra seem to be getting justice.
Last Wednesday, Additional Sessions Judge I had held 10 accused including Abdul Hameed, Sarfaraz, Mohammad Talib, Faheem, Zeeshan, Mohammad Saif, Javed, Soib Khan, Nankau and Maroof Ali guilty in this case and had fixed December 11 for giving verdict on the punishment. After the murder of Ram Gopal Mishra in Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had also directed to take strict action in this matter. In view of the evidence and statements of witnesses, a major verdict can be given in this case. Since this incident, people’s eyes were fixed on the court.
