Donald Trump Threat to Colombia: US President Donald Trump has opened a front on Venezuela in the name of drugs. After seizing a big oil tanker, he has threatened not only Maduro but also the President of Colombia that he could be next.
US Venezuela Conflict: A major turning point in the ongoing tension between America and Venezuela came when America seized an oil tanker near the Venezuelan coast. This is being considered the biggest step in US President Donald Trump’s policy of pressure on Venezuela that has been going on for four months. Earlier, America had blown up three Venezuelan boats saying that they were involved in drug smuggling. There is a controversy going on regarding one of these small boats because it was going towards Suriname but America attacked it and killed the people present in it.
Donald Trump himself confirmed this and said that we have just seized a very large tanker off the coast of Venezuela – perhaps the largest tanker ever seized. However, he did not tell who is the owner of the ship. US Attorney General Pam Bondi also released a video on social media, in which American soldiers are seen landing on a tanker from a helicopter.
Why is this attack important?
According to Pam Bondy, this tanker was on the US sanctions list for many years because it was linked to an illegal oil smuggling network. It helps foreign terrorist organizations. Regarding this action of America, the Venezuelan government did not immediately react to this incident. However, at a rally in Caracas, President Nicolas Maduro told the people to be ready like warriors and if necessary, break the teeth of America’s empire. While dancing and singing, he is telling his people not to worry.
