A case of assault on a woman has come to light in Jwalamukhi in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Here a man has been accused of assaulting his younger brother’s wife. The whole matter is related to land dispute. The woman alleges that she was assaulted earlier also.
Volcano. In Jwalamukhi of Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh, a brother-in-law has been accused of assaulting his younger brother’s wife. The incident of assault on a woman that took place on Tuesday morning in village Kopra of Jwalamukhi area of police district Dehra has shaken the entire area. The matter is not just of a fight on the road, but of a long-running domestic and property dispute.
Sangeeta Kumari, a resident of Kopra, told the police that brother-in-law Amrit Lal had returned home after about 23 years. He was constantly trying to take possession of the house and openly threatened that whoever took possession would be the owner of the house.
According to the victim, in the morning when her husband and children were not at home, her brother-in-law found her alone and first had a fight with her in the house and later dragged her to the road. There he beat Sangeeta badly, due to which she even suffered fractures. Coincidentally, a private bus was passing on the road at that time. Hearing the screams, the bus driver immediately stopped the bus and passengers and local people got down and saved the woman from the attack. A passenger present in the bus made a video of the fight, which is now going viral on social media.
The victim alleges that she was injured in the attack and yet the accused brother-in-law is sitting comfortably at home and is openly saying that what has the administration uprooted? Crying, Sangeeta told that FIR has been registered, but no action is being taken. If things continue like this, where should we go? Who will give us security?”
A case has been registered against the accused in Jwalamukhi police station under sections 126(2), 115(2), 352 of BNS. The medical treatment of the victim has been done in Nadaun. Sandeep Patial is investigating the case. DSP Jwalamukhi R.P. Jaswal said that the matter appears to be related to a domestic dispute, but the police is carrying forward the investigation rapidly. It is noteworthy that the local people are appreciating the promptness of the bus driver and passengers, with whose help the woman’s life could be saved.
