The Animal Husbandry Department has informed that the FMD vaccination campaign will be run in every Panchayat of the district. Under this, trained health workers will go to the homes of cattle farmers and vaccinate their cattle free of cost. Officials say that if the farmers wish, they can also submit the records of their animals to the nearest block animal husbandry office and demand vaccination.
Begusarai: The outbreak of a deadly disease of animals has increased in Begusarai district of Bihar. Gradually, animal husbandry farmers are also falling prey to this. Animal husbandry and farmer brothers say that the foot and mouth disease (FMD) disease which has been spreading rapidly among animals since last one week has increased their tension. In many areas, symptoms like boils in the mouth and hooves of cattle, fever and difficulty in walking and eating are appearing. When the disease becomes serious, the animals even die. In such a situation, to provide relief to the animal husbandry, the Animal Husbandry Department has said that the vaccination campaign will be started rapidly.
Maximum impact in two blocks
According to farmers, two blocks of Begusarai are most affected by this disease. However, the department is not accepting this. In view of this, the Animal Husbandry Department has activated teams at the field level. Especially in Khodavandpur block, Veterinary Officer Dr. Chandrashekhar Kumar is already active and himself is going from village to village and meeting the cattle herders. He is taking updates on the situation of any disease occurring in animals. They say that no farmer will be allowed to face shortage of treatment or information. Here, many cattle farmers said that due to increasing disease since some days, the cattle were giving up food and drink, due to which both milk production and farming were getting affected. As soon as the department team reached the village, the farmers felt relieved.
Team will reach every Panchayat, vaccination will be done from door to door
The Animal Husbandry Department has informed that the FMD vaccination campaign will be run in every Panchayat of the district. Under this, trained health workers will go to the homes of cattle farmers and vaccinate their cattle free of cost. Officials say that if farmers wish, they can also demand vaccination by giving the records of their animals to the nearest block animal husbandry office. Under the special campaign, the team will reach the farmers’ homes and complete the vaccination. Farmers will not have to pay any fee for this. This entire process is 100% free.
Big relief is being provided in Khodavandpur
Among the 18 blocks of the district, farmers here are benefiting the most from the work of Khodavandpur Animal Husbandry Department. The veterinary hospital is actively working here and farmers are getting immediate treatment facilities. Local officials said that to prevent the disease, everything from anti-viral medicines to supplements are being made available. Overall, amidst the threat of foot-and-mouth disease in Begusarai, this door-to-door vaccination campaign of the Animal Husbandry Department has come as a big hope for thousands of animal farmers.
