In an Instagram video, food content creator Mahima narrated how her housekeeper told her that she would make kadhi rice exactly the way her mother used to make it. Mahima said that kadhi is usually made in the same way everywhere, but her housekeeper insisted that her method is unique as everything is made in the same vessel.
Content creator Mahima gave her the go-ahead. First, her domestic help took gram flour, mixed curd, salt, black pepper, turmeric and coriander powder in it. Meanwhile, he heated oil in the cooker and fried cumin seeds, asafoetida, green chillies, garlic and onion. When the base was ready, he added the curd mixture.

The curry started boiling. Instead of cooking the rice separately, she added the washed rice directly to the curry, closed the cooker, and cooked everything together for about 10 minutes. Finally, add ghee and dry red chilli seasoning, and that’s it, the one pot curry-rice is ready.
