Patna. After the formation of the new government, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar is in full action mode. On Wednesday, he suddenly called an important review meeting at his residence, in which a detailed report of the promises and development works made during the Pragati Yatra was taken. Home Minister Samrat Chaudhary, Minister Vijay Chaudhary, both Deputy CMs and senior officials of many departments were present in the meeting, while DMs of all the districts joined through video conferencing. CM Nitish Kumar clearly told the officials that “wherever work has been promised during the Pragati Yatra, all those projects should be completed within the stipulated time limit and with full quality.” He warned that any kind of negligence or deficiency in the work will not be tolerated at all. District-wise review took place in the meeting and the CM asked each district as to which work is in progress and by when will it be completed. Here, preparations are also underway for Panchayat elections 2026. Panchayati Raj Minister Deepak Prakash said that this time work is underway on the plan to conduct Panchayat elections through EVMs. Under the new technology, multipost EVM will be used, in which 6 ballot units will be connected to one control unit. Besides, to make the counting of votes more transparent, Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology and camera-based counting system will also be installed. The minister said that the elections will be free, fair and completely transparent.
