Gardening expert Ramesh Kumar said that to drive away ants, spray cold water near the plants and use hot water in distant areas of the garden. A mixture of dishwash and edible oil, lemon-water spray, boric powder and sugar solution and a mixture of neem oil, baking soda and dishwash are very effective. Spraying of vinegar-baking soda and turmeric-ash is also effective.
He told that where there is high infestation of ants, sprinkle a solution of antiseptic liquid, vinegar, lemon juice and camphor. Add neem cake to the plants every 15 to 20 days and if sap sucking insects are seen, spray neem or cow urine. Do not allow water to stagnate in the pot and keep the garden ant-free and green by removing dry and diseased leaves from time to time.
