Chhattisgarh Weather Update: The returning winter in Chhattisgarh has once again gained momentum. Due to the cold winds coming from the north and the influence of western disturbance, the effect of cold wave is going to be intense in many parts of the state for the next three days. Especially the districts of Surguja, Bilaspur, Durg and Raipur divisions may be hit by severe cold. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning of intense cold wave in many districts on 11 and 12 December. At the same time, there is a possibility of dense fog in Raipur city on the morning of 10th December, which may affect life.
Effect of cold intensified in the state, cold wave prevailed in many districts
The weather remained dry in the state during the last 24 hours. However, cold wave occurred in some pockets of North and Central Chhattisgarh, due to which a drop in temperature was recorded. Ambikapur was the coldest, where the minimum temperature was recorded at 5.3°C.
Maximum and minimum temperature conditions
The highest maximum temperature of 30.9°C was recorded in Durg in the state. Despite sunshine during the day, the sharp drop in night temperature is making the winter more severe.
At the same time, the rainfall figures remained completely zero.
Synoptic System: Effect of Western Disturbance
Western Disturbance, formed in the form of a trough in the mid-tropospheric westerly winds, is active. This system is situated 5.8 km above sea level, parallel to 23° North latitude and 81° East longitude. Due to this effect, cold winds are continuously entering the state.
Next 24 hours: Weather will remain dry
According to the Meteorological Department, the weather is likely to remain completely dry in the state today. There will be no rain, but the effect of cold will remain.
Cold wave alert: Be careful
There is a possibility of intense cold wave in some areas of Surajpur, Balrampur, Korea, Surguja, Bilaspur, Durg and Raipur districts on 11 and 12 December. The department has advised citizens to take special precautions in the morning and evening.
