Chandigarh. After a day’s strike, 3 thousand employees of government hospital in Haryana have now gone on indefinite strike. In such a situation, health services will remain disrupted in the state for the third consecutive day and emergency services will also not operate. However, the government claims that they have made arrangements.
According to the information, now the doctors will also sit on fast unto death and the fast unto death of the doctors will start in Sector-6 Hospital of Panchkula.
Haryana Doctors Association President Rajesh Khayalia said that instead of talking to us, the government has imposed ESMA and is trying to scare us. Rajesh Khayaliya released one of his videos and appealed to all the doctors that no one needs to be afraid, because even when there was MPHW strike, the government had done the same. We are Corona Warriors and the government had given us the status of Corona Warrior. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had praised everyone at that time and now that we are fighting for our rights, the government is taking strict action.
Khayaliya called upon all doctors not to back down at all in the fight for their honor and rights. Dr. Aakriti, head of Jhajjar District Committee, said that the services of inexperienced doctors are being taken in the hospital here. OPD services are being run by calling doctors from private medical colleges and the arrangements are not good.
On the other hand, the Director General of Health has called the doctors for talks and seven meetings have been held with the Director General of Health, Haryana Civil Medical Services Association President Rajesh Khayalia and other members. Earlier, last evening the government had imposed ESMA Act on the striking doctors and banned the doctors from going on strike for the next six months.
What is ESMA Act?
It is noteworthy that to prevent strikes in essential services like electricity, water, transport, hospitals, the government implements the Essential Services Maintenance Act (ESMA). Under this law no employee can go on strike. It can be implemented for a maximum of six months and the government can extend it if needed. At the same time, let us tell you that the doctors are opposing direct recruitment to the post of CMO in Haryana and this is the reason for the strike.
