This information has been received from the National Makhana Research Centre. After taking complete training in this, we will now cultivate Makhana in Assam also.
These farmers will campaign in Assam
Pradeep Googai, one of the farmers who came from Assam, said that we have just come from Sonipur district of Assam. What are we thinking that after seeing and learning the cultivation of Makhana from here, we will promote it in Assam and will cultivate Makhana there ourselves.

At the same time, the workers of Sushila Foundation for Agriculture Development NGO of Assam, who brought these farmers, say that last time we had come here with some farmers and provided them information about Makhana here. At present, some farming has been done by farmers in three districts as a trial basis. This time we have brought farmers here to increase farming in Assam. With the help of NABARD, our NGO will also provide Makhana seeds to these farmers after training. NABARD will get full support in the harvesting or packaging done after the harvest.
