Pramila iron art success story: Pramila from Chhotarajpur, Chhattisgarh has become a new identity of wrought iron art by joining Markam ‘Bihaan’. Today, the family dependent on labor is preparing 80 types of artefacts and reaching fairs across the country. Pramila has earned an income of more than Rs 13 lakh by creating more than 1500 works. His art is giving a national platform to the culture of Bastar.
80 types of artworks prepared by Pramila reflect the rich cultural tradition of Chhattisgarh Bastar. Dancing sculptures, figures of animals and birds and compositions depicting rural life are excellent examples of his art. The hard work and detail of hands is visible in every artwork.
Bihaan gave Pramila the opportunity to participate in Saras Melas organized in cities like Gujarat, Goa, Delhi, Assam and Noida. Here he has earned an income of about Rs 12 lakh so far. Recently, he earned Rs 3 lakh 87 thousand 500 by selling 496 products in the Saras fair organized in Delhi.
Till date Pramila has created more than 1500 wrought iron artefacts, the total cost of which reaches Rs 30 lakh. Of these, 857 artefacts were sold in Saras Mela, Saras Gallery and local markets, earning them a remarkable income of Rs 13 lakh.

Pramila is not only making herself self-reliant but is also working to make the traditional wrought iron art of Chhattisgarh recognized across the country. He told that Bihan Mission gave him a new direction and strengthened his art business. With the support of the government and administration, his art journey is moving forward.
