These days a campaign to remove encroachment is going on in Sitamarhi and bulldozer action is being taken against illegal construction. At the same time, encroachers have also become alert due to this action. As much as there is discussion about it, there is not as much action being taken.
These days, such fear of bulldozers is being seen in entire Bihar including Sitamarhi as if a storm is about to come. The campaign to remove encroachments has intensified at every intersection of the city, and as soon as the administrative bulldozer is seen on the road, there is a stampede among the shopkeepers. It is clearly visible in many videos and pictures that as soon as the JCB arrives, people are seen quickly packing their goods without waiting for any order, so that their cart or shop is saved from getting destroyed. However, as much as the campaign is in discussion, it is also surrounded by questions.
Many people of the city believe that this action of the administration has become just a way to maintain fear. Because as soon as the bulldozers are removed, within a few minutes the same shopkeepers again surround the road and set up their shops. As if the entire campaign is a formality, which happens every day and is also ignored every day. This clearly shows that the ground system for removing encroachments is not as strong as it seems to be.
Encroachers alerted
The most surprising thing is that many encroachers become alert before the campaign starts. There is also a heated discussion among the people that information is leaked in advance by someone from within the Municipal Corporation, so that they can remove the items in advance. This is the reason that despite the fear of action, its effect does not last long. People are definitely afraid, but their habits do not change.
Run, run, the bulldozer came
Still, when a JCB is seen from a distance on the city streets, the atmosphere changes for a while. The crowd of pedestrians suddenly increases its speed, and among the shopkeepers there is a cry of ‘Run, run… the bulldozer has come!’ Sounds start echoing. For some time the roads actually appear encroachment-free. But as soon as the bulldozer moves forward, the same old scene returns. Shops are again set up on the roads and the city is again immersed in the same congestion.
