Moradabad News: In a police encounter with the accused in the ATM robbery case in Moradabad, two miscreants were shot in their legs and arrested. Three other associates were also caught. Police recovered more than three lakh rupees in cash and weapons. The search for other members of the gang is going on.
Moradabad. Police has solved the mystery of the sensational robbery that took place on the night of 25-26 November in the ATM of Punjab National Bank located on Delhi Highway. There was a fierce encounter between police and robbers in the forest of Civil Line police station area late on Monday night. In the firing, two miscreants were shot in the legs and were arrested.
More than three lakh cash recovered
The police have also recovered more than Rs 3 lakh of the looted cash from the possession of the accused. Apart from this, weapons and other items used in the robbery have also been seized. SSP Moradabad said that this is the same gang which had targeted the PNB ATM located on Delhi Highway last month. The miscreants had looted cash worth lakhs of rupees by cutting the ATM with a cutter. After the incident, the police had formed several teams and were searching for the accused.
Search for other gang members
As soon as information about the encounter was received, police force was deployed in the area. At present the investigation is going on and it is feared that this gang may also be involved in other ATM robbery cases in the area. The police are now conducting raids to search for the remaining recoveries and other possible gang members. While the police have heaved a sigh of relief with this success, the security confidence among businessmen and the general public has also increased.
