Bhojpur: Rabi season sowing in Bihar is going on rapidly in all the districts including Bhojpur. Farmers are busy preparing for wheat cultivation. Meanwhile, an important question often arises among the farmers. However, many farmers do not know how much seed is sown in 1 acre or how much crop is produced in one acre. Today we will tell you how much seed is needed in one acre and how much yield farmers can get from it. Local 18’s team talked to agricultural experts. Let us know what the farmers and agricultural scientists said…
Know how much wheat seeds will be required in 1 acre field
Farmers cultivate wheat in the months of late November and early December. In such a situation, to cultivate one acre of wheat, about 120 to 125 kg of wheat seeds in one acre of field is considered sufficient. If sowing is done with seed drill, then the quantity of seeds is slightly less, i.e. 100 to 110 kg is also sufficient. Whereas in scattered method, i.e. sowing by hand, 120 to 130 kg of seeds are required. Because in this method more seeds are planted and some part also gets spoiled.
Agricultural scientist told the right way to sow seeds
Krishi Vigyan Kendra scientist AK Maurya said that farming experts believe that sowing seeds in the right quantity and sowing at the right distance, both are very important for better production of wheat. If the weather is favourable, the seeds are of good quality and fertilizers are used in a balanced manner, then the average yield from one acre of wheat is 18 to 22 quintals. In well-managed farms, which have irrigation facilities and improved quality seeds are used, production can reach 22 to 25 quintals per acre.
The agricultural scientist said that after cultivating wheat, the first irrigation should be done 20-25 days after sowing, the second irrigation should be done at the ear stage and the third irrigation should be done at the time of grain formation. So that the yield can be better. In such a situation, it is clear that right amount of seeds, timely irrigation and balanced fertilizer are the three things that decide how much yield will be obtained from one acre of wheat. If farmers follow these basic principles of farming, then it is possible to increase the production by about 15-20%.
