After this the bed has to be made. The distance of the bed should be kept four feet. After this, mulching has to be done. In this, the distance from plant to plant should be one fit. It is important to select good seeds for the cultivation of Barbati. Due to which the yield should be good.
I have used cow dung manure. Apart from this, super phosphate and DAP have also been used. There is disease in the barbati crop, for this the insecticide should be sprayed in the beginning itself. This is a three month crop. This farming involves an expenditure of about Rs 15 thousand, which can result in a profit of at least Rs 60 thousand after covering the expenses. Currently the wholesale price in the market is Rs 30. I have planted barbati in half an acre.
