Devendra Dhivar says that to plant Danthus, a pot of at least 8 inches is required. However, if the plant is wanted big and dense then a 10 to 12 inch pot is considered most suitable. Usually its seedling is done before the onset of cold, but if time is short then a ready plant can be taken from the nursery and planted directly in the pot. He told that while preparing pot soil, fertilizer should be made by mixing mustard cake, neem cake and vermicompost. This mixture provides initial nutrition to the plant and ensures rapid growth. If cow dung manure is available in the house, then it is considered to be the best natural fertilizer for any flowering plant.
