Gardening expert Devendra Dhiwar says that the biggest specialty of Sada Suhaag is that its flowers are also offered to God. Therefore, it is considered a symbol of auspiciousness and is installed in many homes. Apart from this, this plant easily survives even in harsh climates and gives good flowers even with less care. He told that by planting this plant in a pot, flowers keep blooming continuously throughout the winter season, due to which the balcony, terrace or courtyard is always full of colors.
He told that 8 to 12 inch pot is suitable for planting Vinca in a pot. While preparing the soil, neem cake, mustard cake, paddy straw, vermicompost and cow dung should be mixed well. This mixture provides a fertile environment to the plant and strengthens its roots. Plants planted in this nutritious soil become ready for flowering in 20 to 25 days, which includes it in the fast flowering category.
How to care?
Expert Devendra Dhivar told that the most important care of Vinca is related to water. He warned that this plant should not be given too much water, because if it gets more water than required, its roots may rot and the plant may even die. Therefore maintaining light moisture is sufficient. The plant likes sunlight, so keep it in an open lighted place. Sada Suhaag blooms in seven attractive colors purple, orange, yellow, red, pink, white and dark red. Although, its flowers do not come in very big size, but good quantity of flowers blooming in a single plant makes it very attractive. Its beauty and diversity make it a favorite plant for every garden.
The price of the plant is also economical. This plant is available in the nursery of Raipur for just Rs 25. To keep the plant healthy, insecticides like Attack 550, Roggar and Clear Powder can be used from time to time, which protects against insects and fungus on the leaves.
