Jalaunah A big revelation has come to light regarding the death of SHO Arun Rai in Jalaun district of Uttar Pradesh. SHO Arun Rai was being blackmailed by lady constable Meenakshi Sharma, due to which he was fed up. Meenakshi is accused of demanding Rs 25 lakh from Arun Rai. Because she had obscene photos and chats with Arun Rai, which she was repeatedly threatening to make viral. In this case, Meenakshi Sharma has been arrested and sent to jail and an FIR has been registered against her. The police, which is investigating the death, is now investigating from the angle of murder as well.

Police have also found a mobile phone from Meenakshi Sharma. Objectionable photos, videos and chats with Arun Rai have been found in this mobile. Meenakshi was blackmailing Arun Rai through objectionable photos, videos and chats.
Meenakshi was asking for Rs 25 lakh
Some data has been deleted from the mobile phone which is being retrieved by the police. It is being told that Meenakshi’s marriage is to take place on 8 February 2026. Meenakshi was demanding Rs 25 lakh from Arun Rai for the wedding expenses. It is discussed that Arun Rai had given a diamond set worth three and a half lakh rupees to Meenakshi during her engagement. Arun Rai, recruited as a constable, became a sub-inspector after being found out of turn. On March 14, 2024, Meenakshi Sharma was posted at Konch police station in Jalaun.
How Meenakshi and SHO Arun Rai came close
On July 5, 2024, Arun Rai became SHO of Konch Kotwali. Arun and Meenakshi were posted together in Konch police station for seven months. It was during this time that Arun and Meenakshi came closer. On 22 February 2025, Arun Rai became Orai Kotwali SHO. Meenakshi was transferred to UP 112 on 28 April 2025. It is said that Meenakshi was pressurizing Arun Rai since his transfer. Even before her death, police found chatting between Arun and Meenakshi.
Meenakshi has already accused a constable of rape
During her posting in Pilibhit, Meenakshi had filed a rape case against a constable and sent him to jail. SP Jalaun Dr. Durgesh Kumar has formed a SIT to investigate the entire matter. The SIT consists of Inspector Ajay Pathak, SI Sheelvansh Singh, an SI and a constable. CO Shailendra Bajpai will supervise this entire SIT. Arun Rai’s body was found in his official residence on Friday night. It was Meenakshi who had informed the police station about Arun Rai’s suicide.
