Himachal News: A surprising case has come to light in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Here a live cow was kept inside a dog shelter, so that the dogs could eat it. The shelter operator woman has been accused and the police have registered a case. However, people have also become angry regarding the matter.

The former MLA has also written a letter to the Governor in this regard. Besides, allegations of violation of Section 118 have also been made regarding the land of Doctor Shelter.
Actually, this incident has happened in Majra village of Damtal Panchayat of Indora in Kangra district of Himachal Pradesh. Here the live cow was left to be torn to pieces by the dogs. During this time the dogs kept scratching the cow. But when the video went viral the incident came to light.
Former Indora MLA Manohar Dhiman has written a letter to Governor Shivpratap Shukla to investigate the matter and has also sent a copy to the Chief Minister. On the other hand, people also demonstrated against the shelter regarding this matter.
It is being told that a couple hailing from Punjab had opened a dog shelter home here. In the year 2023, two acres of land was purchased in Majra village and then a shelter was built for abandoned dogs. It is being told that the couple running this shelter home also runs an NGO in Gurdaspur. The important thing is that the organization had not taken NOC from the local Panchayat to run the dog shelter home, nor is the organization registered in Himachal.
The former MLA wrote in the letter that a similar incident had also happened on 23 October 2025 and many cows were thrown out of the cow shed.
Indora administration kept sleeping
It is noteworthy that questions are also being raised on the administration in this matter. After all, if people complained then why was no action taken? Also, how was the shelter home running here without NOC from the Panchayat? The important thing is how non-Himachalis got land here. However, the police have registered a case regarding the incident and investigation is underway. According to media reports, SDM Indora Surendra Thakur said that people have submitted a memorandum in the matter. The matter will be investigated and the culprits will not be spared.
