Faridabad-Gurugram's air again becomes poisonous, AQI crosses 260, burning sensation in throat and eyes increases, experts advise to wear mask.

Air pollution: AQI was recorded between 150 to 260+ in Faridabad and Gurugram this morning, due to which the air quality became very poor. People felt heaviness due to smog, smoke, irritation and dryness in the throat. Doctors have warned that this pollution is extremely dangerous for children, the elderly and asthma patients.

Faridabad: This morning, as soon as people stepped out of their homes, the mixture of mist and smoke present in the air became clearly felt. Slight burning sensation while breathing and stinging sensation in the eyes once again made it clear that the pollution in NCR is not showing signs of reducing. In both the cities of Faridabad and Gurugram, the morning AQI was recorded between 150 to 260+ in many areas, ranging from moderate to very poor and at some places reaching the severe category.

Big fluctuations in AQI were seen in many sectors of Faridabad. The air condition was most worrying in Sector 30, where AQI increased from 170 to 270+, which falls directly in the very poor and severe category. AQI was recorded around 226 in Sector 46, while around 223 was recorded in Sector 16. The average AQI of the city ranged between 184 to 247 in the morning, which makes it clear that the air in Faridabad is in much worse condition than normal.

People who came out on the streets in the morning felt suffocation and a layer of dust in the air. Many people went out wearing masks, especially those who have to travel daily. Doctors have already warned that this level of pollution can be harmful to the throat, lungs and eyes. On the other hand, the pollution level in Gurugram was also found to be dangerously high this morning. AQI in the city was recorded in the range of 200 to 260+, which falls in the poor to very poor category.

AQI in Sector 56 was around 214, while in Sector 49 it was around 219. The average AQI of entire Gurugram remained between 190 to 210+ in the morning. Visibility was also reduced due to light fog in many areas. Office goers reported that the air was feeling heavy and the problem of dryness in the throat had increased. Experts have warned that increasing pollution is more harmful for children, the elderly and asthma patients. Also, it is advised that people avoid morning walks, wear masks and do not go out unnecessarily.
