Lukewarm water-ghee: The easiest and most effective way is to drink a cup of lukewarm water 1 hour before sleeping. It improves digestion. Apart from this, taking 1 teaspoon of desi cow ghee with lukewarm water 30 minutes before sleeping is also very beneficial. It lubricates the intestines and makes morning bowel movements easier. Vaidyas call it a small amount of Sneha-Pan, which helps in sleep, digestion and cleanliness.
Triphala-Munakka: Triphala gives a mild detox to digestion when taken at night. It helps the stomach to work at its natural pace. Taking half a spoon of Triphala with warm water helps in clearing the stomach on its own in the morning. Apart from this, 4 raisins soaked in lukewarm water also softens the intestines and helps in easy removal of stool in the morning.
Myrobalan: In Ayurveda, myrobalan has been called ‘Vishtambh Nashini’ for constipation. Taking a little powder or pills at night keeps the movement of the colon balanced. Before sleeping, a light massage of the stomach for 10 minutes is also good, especially on the left-lower abdomen.
Cardamom: Ayurveda rules that only light, hot and easily digestible food till 8 pm helps in cleaning the stomach in the morning. If you want, you can keep 1 cardamom near your pillow while sleeping. Its aroma relaxes the mind and opens the digestive system.
By adopting these measures, one feels lightness in 2-3 days, morning routine becomes natural in 5-7 days and both digestion and metabolism become better in 15 days.
