The main accused in the Goa fire incident, owners Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra, managed to flee the country soon after the incident. Police have come to know that they left Mumbai for Phuket (Thailand) on the same day of the accident. Now Goa Police has sought help from Interpol through CBI, so that these absconding club owners can be arrested as soon as possible and brought to India.
The accused in the horrific fire incident in Goa’s night club have succeeded in escaping from India. According to Goa Police sources, on the same day the incident took place, owners Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra had boarded a flight from Mumbai to Phuket, Thailand. Now Goa Police has sought help from Interpol through the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in this matter. Police suspect that the accused are hiding in Thailand. With the help of Interpol, the process of arresting the accused and bringing them to India will now be started. Police is taking swift action in this matter.
When did you catch the flight abroad?
Police investigation revealed that nightclub owners Gaurav Luthra and Saurabh Luthra were successful in fleeing the country. This accident happened at around midnight. Upon contacting Mumbai Immigration, the police came to know that both the accused had left for Phuket (Thailand) on Indigo flight (6E 1073) at 5:30 am on 7th December. It is clear that he had made a complete plan to avoid police action. As soon as the FIR was registered, a team of Goa Police left for Delhi. Raids were conducted at the premises of the accused, but they were not found there. After this, a notice under the law was pasted at his residence.
Interpol Help and Lookout Circular
Goa Police is now busy in cracking down on the absconding accused. The police had also issued a Lookout Circular (LOC) against both of them by the evening of 7 December. Along with this, Goa Police has contacted the Interpol Division of CBI to arrest both the accused. This step has been taken to ensure his arrest as soon as possible. Police believe they are taking refuge in Thailand. Meanwhile, the police has detained Bharat Kohli from Delhi. He is being brought to Goa on transit remand for questioning.
Security audit instructions
25 people died tragically in this tragic fire incident. In view of this, the State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) has issued a major instruction. SDMA has asked all the night clubs, restaurants, bars and event venues of Goa to conduct internal safety audit within 7 days. They will have to keep their report ready for inspection. This step will help in preventing such accidents in future. Meanwhile, post mortem (PME) of all the deceased has been completed. The bodies have been handed over to their families.
