Chhattisgarh Traditional Rawatnacha: Rawat Naach Mahotsav was successfully organized with traditional gaiety and grandeur on Sunday night in Nagar Panchayat Rahoud of Janjgir Champa district. In this special event dedicated to the folk art, tradition and collective culture of Chhattisgarh, Rawat groups from different areas of the state participated and overwhelmed the audience with their attractive and captivating presentations. The rhythm of drums, the splendor of traditional costumes and the collective dance moves of the dancers made the entire atmosphere festive, the audience enjoyed every performance thoroughly.
Rautanacha is a traditional folk dance performed by Yaduvanshis in Chhattisgarh, in which traditional Rautanacha is performed during winter days in the rural areas of Chhattisgarh, it is also called Rautanacha in Chhattisgarhi. In this Ravatanacha, when the artists in the middle dance in fast rhythm while playing Dhol, Tasha and Mandar and Manjira, the whole atmosphere is filled with energy and enthusiasm. Ravatanacha is also considered a ritual for the prosperity, happiness, peace and good harvest of the village. This dance performed collectively also strengthens the social unity in the village. Rawatnacha, full of traditional tunes, passionate steps and devotion, still maintains its identity as a major art style that keeps alive the folk culture of Chhattisgarh. Rawatnacha is an important part of the Nacha-Goti tradition of Chhattisgarh, in which the dancers wear traditional costumes like kurta, dhoti, turban on the head, peacock feathers, waist belt and in hand. They wear decorated sticks or symbolic weapons, anklets on their feet and dance in the spirit of bravery. At the same time, in this Rawat dance, boys dress up as girls, which is called Pari. Along with this, different exciting stunts are performed in it, they walk with sticks, do sit-ups while standing on nails, walk with fire. Which is a different art in itself.
Award given to the best Ravatanacha team
In the festival organized as a competition by the organizer in Rahoud, the teams were rewarded on the basis of their excellent performance, feats, and their traditional costumes, in which the Rawatnacha team of Seelapahri, on the basis of its brilliant presentation, got the first prize of Rs 21,000, the second place got Rs 17,000 by the Girsa team, while the third place got Rs 15,000 by the Bharni team of Bilaspur district, the fourth place was Rs 10,000. Bilaigarh Belha team was given Rs 7,000 and the fifth Jalso team was given Rs 7,000. Apart from this, an amount of Rs 2,100 was given to each team as an incentive to the participating teams, which further increased the enthusiasm of the artists.
