Nawada News: An incident that shames humanity has come to light from the government hospital of Akbarpur in Nawada, Bihar. Where it is alleged that after the death of a woman, the family was not given an ambulance. Instead of giving stretchers, two people were taken as hostages. Now the whole matter has gone viral.
Nawada: See, a video has surfaced from Nawada district of Bihar that puts human sensibilities to shame. Which is exposing not only the health system of Nawada but also the health system of the state government. Here, Akbarpur Block Hospital did not even provide an ambulance to the family members of a woman who had come for treatment late at night when she died, instead two people were mortgaged to the family members to take the dead body to the structure. Accused of ‘mortgaging’ two people in exchange for giving a stretcher
According to the family members, when they demanded an ambulance or hearse to take the body home, the stretcher was provided after much persuasion. During this, the hospital staff put forward a surprising condition. It is alleged that in exchange of giving the stretcher, two people from the deceased’s family were kept there as ‘mortgage’. It was said that if you get the stretcher back then you will leave.
Amidst this compulsion on a cold night, the family members placed the body of the woman on a stretcher and set out towards home. The video which you can watch on Local 18. It is alleged that despite the fact that the family members of the deceased told that they lived in an area close to the hospital, the health workers present inside the hospital showed no interest in providing an ambulance.
In the pictures obtained by Local18, it is clearly visible how the relatives of the deceased are carrying the body on a stretcher and taking it home on foot. The harsh cold, darkness of the night and neglect of the system – all these together made this incident even more painful. It is not that this story has come to light from Nawada for the first time. News 18 has shown embarrassing pictures of the health system many times before. After this the Civil Surgeon and DM have remained careless.
