Dehradun latest news: Now the Municipal Corporation has started taking strict action against those throwing garbage in the open in Dehradun. Despite the campaign to make the city dustbin-free, many people are not stopping dumping garbage on roadsides and empty places. For the first time, the corporation is using drone cameras to monitor such people, on the basis of which the process of notice, challan and lawsuit will be implemented.
Dehradun: Municipal Corporation Dehradun has identified those important places in the city where people are repeatedly seen throwing garbage in the open. Now drones will fly and monitor these points daily. Every person or vehicle captured on camera will be identified and immediate action will be taken based on the evidence. This surveillance technology has been implemented for the first time in Dehradun.
Three-step action model applied
Municipal Commissioner Namami Bansal said that three-level action has been decided against those throwing garbage in the open. If the drone is captured on camera for the first time, a notice will be sent to the person concerned. If the same mistake is repeated for the second time, a challan of Rs 5,000 will be deducted. A case will be registered if the rules are broken for the third time. The corporation believes that after this strictness, the cases of garbage throwing will reduce.
Problems faced in dustbin-free model
Under the plan to make the city dustbin-free, the Municipal Corporation had removed dustbins from many places. The objective was that people should use door-to-door garbage collection service and not throw garbage on the road. However, many people are still throwing garbage on the roadside in the old way. This not only affects the cleanliness of the city, but also increases the risk of foul smell and diseases due to filth.
Initiative to make people aware
The Municipal Corporation has said that drone surveillance is not just a means of punitive action, but also an effort to make people aware. The corporation appeals that all citizens should deposit the waste generated from their homes in the garbage van at the stipulated time. The cooperation of the city residents in cleanliness has been said to be very important.
Expectations increased from drone technology
The Municipal Corporation hopes that monitoring through drone technology will stop the habit of throwing garbage in the open. Due to video recording, action will be taken against any person on the basis of facts, which will reduce the possibility of dispute. This step is considered important to make the city clean and attractive.
Big step towards making the city clean
The Municipal Corporation is continuously running a campaign to make Dehradun beautiful, organized and clean. Drone based surveillance system is being considered a major achievement of this campaign. The corporation has also made it clear that action will continue without any concessions against those who violate the rules.
