Bengaluru News: A heart-wrenching accident has come to light from SG Palya area of Bengaluru. This accident on Monday morning has shocked the entire locality. The bodies of 14 year old innocent Monish, his mother Sudha (38) and maternal grandmother Muddamma (68) were found in a rented house here. According to the police, after poisoning the child, the mother and grandmother also committed suicide by consuming poison.
No one else was present in the house at the time of the incident. When the neighbors knocked on the door and peeped inside, all three were lying unconscious. After this he immediately informed the police. DCP Sara Fatima reached the spot, SOCO team and FSL experts started the investigation. An empty bottle of poison was recovered from inside the house. All three bodies have been sent to Victoria Hospital for postmortem.
Financial crisis broke the courage
According to the information received from the police and neighbors, Muddamma and her daughter Sudha were somehow earning their living by working in both the houses. A few years ago, Sudha had left her husband and started living with her mother. Together they covered Monish’s school fees, house rent and daily expenses. First he started a small business of biryani, then tried to sell chips, but suffered huge losses in both the businesses.
After this he started milk business, but the debt burden kept increasing. In the last months after taking the loan, the lenders were repeatedly visiting the house asking for their money. Due to this both the women were completely mentally broken. Neighbors told that this was a very quiet family and they did not talk much to anyone.
All three consumed poison at almost the same time
Preliminary police investigation has revealed that all three consumed poison at almost the same time. However, the investigating officers believe that the mother and grandmother first poisoned Monish and then consumed the poison themselves. The amount of poison in the child’s body and the exact sequence of death will become clear only after the postmortem report comes. South-East DCP Sara Fatima told the media that it is clear that all three have consumed poison.
He said that the sequence and exact cause of death will be known after the postmortem report. We are investigating from every angle including financial pressure, mental stress. No suicide note has been recovered yet. At present, the police have registered the case and are engaged in thorough investigation. This painful incident has once again exposed the mental anguish faced by families facing financial crisis.
