Litti made from wheat flour is filled with spicy sattu mixture and baked on low flame, which makes it taste even better.
Along with this, when chokha made of potatoes, brinjal and tomatoes and sweet and sour chutney is decorated on the plate, the eater keeps licking his fingers. Today we are going to tell you the recipe of Desi Litti, adopting which you can enjoy Litti-Chokha at your home.
These ingredients are used in making Litti
If you want to make Litti at home, you will have to go to the market and get some ingredients for it. To make Litti, first of all wheat flour, sattu, pickle, lemon, salt, celery, green chillies, nigella seeds, ginger and garlic will be required, while to make Chokha, potatoes, brinjal, tomato, green coriander, green chillies and mustard oil will be required. Apart from this, ghee will also be required.
Know the step by step recipe of making Litti-Chokha
First of all we will prepare Litti Chokha. For that, first of all wash and wipe the brinjal thoroughly, then make 2-3 incisions in the middle. This will let you know whether the brinjal is raw from inside. Besides, brinjal also gets cooked quickly. Now open the incision a little and put green chillies and garlic inside it. This is the indigenous way of making Chokha. Now apply light oil on the brinjal, then fry the brinjal and tomato thoroughly on the gas. Keep baking them by turning them repeatedly.

Now keep the roasted brinjal and tomatoes to cool. Meanwhile prepare the dough for litti. For this, add 2 cups wheat flour, half teaspoon salt and 2 teaspoons ghee in a vessel. Litti will become crispy by adding ghee. Now prepare a tight dough by adding water little by little. When the dough becomes very tight, cover it with a muslin cloth and let it set for 10 minutes. Now till the time the dough sets, we will prepare Sattu.
Prepare Litti Masala
To make Sattu, add 2 cups of Sattu, 1 teaspoon finely chopped garlic, 1 teaspoon finely chopped ginger, 2 finely chopped green chillies, half finely chopped onion, juice of half a lemon, half teaspoon celery, half teaspoon nigella seeds, 2 tablespoons mustard oil. Now if you have lemon or chilli pickle masala, you can add it to Sattu, this will make the taste even better. Now add salt as per taste on top. After adding all the ingredients, mash it well with hands.
Prepare cow dung cakes for baking Litti
Now, to bake Litti, keep a lot of cow dung cakes prepared and burn them during cold days. Here, fill the Litti flour with Sattu masala and keep it in a round shape. When the flame of cow dung cake reduces, add all the litti in it together and roast it. Cook all the littis slowly by turning them upside down. In 10 to 15 minutes all your litti will be cooked and you can eat it with potato-brinjal chokha. If you want, you can also eat mint or coriander leaves chutney.
