Samastipur rail division: Samastipur Railway Division is going to start digital facility at 14 stations, which will provide security to the passengers and will also increase the income of the Railways.
SamastipurKeeping in view the increasing needs of the passengers, Samastipur Railway Board is going to take a step which will make the journey easier than before, Now passengers will not have to carry their heavy bags and kit bags around the station premises during train delays or platform changes, Giving green signal to the long pending digital facility, Railways has intensified preparations to start it at 14 important stations, The feasibility report of this project has been prepared, which was led by Assistant Commercial Manager Rajesh Kumar, Based on the report the tender process is going to start soon, This facility will provide relief to passengers especially at busy stations like Samastipur, Darbhanga and Muzaffarpur, where thousands of people travel daily and safety of luggage becomes a major concern,
This is the first time that modern digital lockers will be installed at the stations of Samastipur Railway Division. Travelers will now have a reliable place to keep their bags, carry-bags, laptops or other valuables safe. Equipped with PIN, OTP and digital log-in facility, these lockers will provide security to the passengers just like a bank locker. Railway administration believes that this facility will not only provide relief to the passengers, but will also increase the income of the Railways. This unit will be installed in approximately 50 square feet space at each station, whose operation and maintenance will be on the private operator model. Railways will also get commercial revenue from this. According to Divisional Railway spokesperson Ranjit Kumar, digital locker service is an important step in increasing the safety and convenience of passengers, which will reduce crowding and chaos at stations.

The stations included in the first list by Samastipur Railway Division include Samastipur, Darbhanga, Muzaffarpur, Raxaul, Jaynagar, Madhubani, Bettiah, Saharsa, Bapudham, Motihari, Sitamarhi and other major stations.
After the implementation of this facility, passengers will be able to safely keep their luggage safe inside the station premises while booking tickets, shopping, changing platforms or going out for any important work. Bringing digital will not only modernize the travel experience, but it will also be a big step towards bringing railway stations into the category of smart stations.
