Jalaun SHO Arun Kumar Rai Update: The suspicious death of the police station in-charge in Kuthund police station premises of Jalaun has shocked the entire district. The police have now arrested the accused woman constable named in this case and sent her to judicial custody.
Jalaun: The death of Kuthound police station in-charge Inspector Arun Kumar Rai in Jalaun, UP had created a sensation in the entire area. He died after being shot in his official residence. Initially it was considered a suicide, but based on the circumstances of the incident site and some suspicious signs, the case turned towards murder.
After investigation, the police have arrested the named accused, Meenakshi Sharma, a female constable posted in Dial-112, today (Sunday) and sent her to judicial custody. In this case, the deceased’s wife Maya Rai clearly said that it was not suicide but murder. She lodged an FIR against Meenakshi Sharma and alleged that Meenakshi’s role in her husband’s death was under suspicion.

Let us tell you that last Friday night suddenly the sound of gunshot echoed in the police station. The soldiers who immediately reached the spot saw that Inspector Arun Kumar Rai was lying in his room soaked in blood. His own service revolver was found near his hand. He was immediately taken to the Primary Health Center, Kuthund, where in critical condition, the doctors referred him to the Medical College, Orai, but he died during treatment.
After the arrest of Meenakshi Sharma and sending her to judicial custody, the police is now investigating the matter thoroughly. It is being told that recently the accused woman had also taken a necklace worth three lakh rupees and she was also going to get married in February.
Meenakshi Sharma’s name has already been in the headlines in Pilibhit district also. In 2019, complaints were filed against him in several cases. It is alleged that he had blackmailed a constable and a sub-inspector posted there. During this period, after the dispute escalated, he was transferred to Amaria and then to Dial-112 in Sungarhi police station area. After which his name has once again come into the headlines.
