Two dates were written in the letter, 17 March 1986 and 20 September 1988, when these compartments were closed in the wall for the first and then second time. This thing in itself was full of mystery and emotions. This emotional letter written by Mike read – “If anyone finds these boxes in years to come, remember that these are just the remains of a love story, memories of a romance that began tragically and ended just as tragically.” Mike further writes that he could not muster the courage to burn or throw them away, because they contain memories of the period between 1980 and 1983, a period which almost broke his life. He wrote that he thought he had found true love, but later a woman named ‘Yvonne’ came into his life and made him realize that his earlier feelings were probably a mistake. Mike wrote that it was impossible for him to throw it all away, so he locked these things in the wall again, with the hope that after his death someone would find them and understand how deeply these memories meant to him. Some names were written in the last part of the letter which Zoh and Zai did not make public. The letter ends with this line: “If I’m still alive, maybe you can tell him I couldn’t throw them away – Mike.”
