Patna: The traffic police has taken a big step to control traffic jams in the busy urban areas of the capital. It has been decided to completely ban roadside parking of vehicles on Nehru Path and Buddha Marg, two major routes of the city. The new system has been implemented from today i.e. Sunday. If anyone parks like this, action will be taken against them immediately.
According to Patna Traffic Police, there will be no roadside parking of any vehicle, whether three-wheeler or four-wheeler, on Nehru Path from Income Tax Golambar to Dakbungalow intersection. Similarly, no vehicle will be allowed to be parked on the roadside from Buddha Marg to GPO Golambar.
Officials have clarified that in view of the ever-increasing traffic pressure on both these major routes, this step has been taken so that maximum use of the road can be made for travel and not for parking.
Where will the new parking system be found?
Under the new system, all drivers will have to use the smart multi-level parking near Maurya Lok. People visiting Buddha Marg and ISKCON temple can park their personal four-wheelers in the smart multi-level parking in front of the planetarium. Apart from this, parking of three-wheelers plying on Buddha Marg has been earmarked in the parking lot of Multi Model Hub. Common citizens coming to Maurya Lok can park their vehicles in the smart multi-level parking located at Maurya Lok.
Action will be taken on violation
The traffic police has warned that after the implementation of the new system, if any vehicle is found parked on the side of the road from Income Tax Golambar to Dak Bungalow or from Buddha Marg to GPO, then it will be immediately fined. Traffic police say that despite modern parking system being available in the city, people used to park their vehicles on the roadside, which created traffic jams for hours. This new arrangement will help in maintaining better traffic flow on this important route of the city.
