The paste of its leaves is effective in boils and pimples. Talking about religious importance, Dhatura is not just a medicine but is the favorite plant of Lord Shiva. According to Pradeep Yogi, priest of Bajrangbali temple, the tradition of offering flowers, leaves and fruits of Dhatura on Shivalinga during Shivratri and Sawan is still alive.
Do not use without doctor’s advice
It is believed that Dhatura was born from the drops of sweat that fell from the body of Mahadev after drinking poison during the churning of the ocean, hence it is considered a blessing of Shiva. However, the doctor also clarified that Datura is a poisonous plant. The amount of alkaloids present in its seeds and leaves is high, which can cause serious side effects if ingested. Therefore, it should be used only under the advice and supervision of a doctor, if used without knowledge or at home, this medicine can also act as poison.
